Minimum Qualifications Current permanent status as an Addictions Counselor 1 and qualified for a lateral transfer ~OR~ Eligible for appointment from the current Addictions Counselor 1 eligible list. Applicants must possess current registration as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in New York State. Continued employment in this title requires maintenance of credentials.
RC Ward ATC is a Tobacco-Free Facility.

Duties Description The incumbent will be a professional member of a multidisciplinary treatment team providing a therapy program to meet the individual needs of alcohol/chemically dependent patients, including patients with co-occurring disorders. Duties may include, but not limited to: carrying a case load of patients, conducting group therapy, didactic presentations and tasks in support of the total therapeutic environment and milieu and quality of patient care; case management, including Comprehensive Assessments, Treatment Plans, Progress Notes and Discharge Plans; assisting patients and significant others to continue treatment and/or be engaged in recognized self-help groups. In addition, the AC1 will be responsible for BHO/MCO authorizations, concurrent reviews and discharge status. Individuals must be knowledgeable in the 818 regulations. Assisting with various portions of the program including: Admissions Screenings, transporting patients, picking up supplies/materials when needed. May require staff supervision.
Note: The ATC uses a computerized patient record system.
