70.4 Transfer to Senior Accountant:
One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title allocated to SG-16 or higher AND have standing on the open competitive Senior Accountant/Senior Auditor eligible list.
70.4 Transfer to Trainee Level 1 NS=SG-14:
One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title allocated to SG-12 or higher AND have standing on the open competitive Accounting and Auditing Trainee 1 eligible list.
Duties Description Prepare monthly financial statements for various programs within OGS which entails:
• Identifying fixed assets and pre-paids.
• Making monthly adjusting entries.
• Reconciling all balance sheet accounts.
• Identifying and recording all material variances.
• Meeting with program units as needed to discuss financial statements.
• Supervise the accounts receivable/escrow functions. Duties include:
• Assigning tasks and coordinating the workflow of functions.
• Establishing objectives and priorities.
• Working with program units regarding accounts receivables/billings.
• Acting as a back up to these functions as needed.
• Prepare journal entries in the Statewide Financial System as necessary.
• Ensure invoices and payments are properly recorded in the Statewide Financial System.
• Address customer concerns and complaints regarding account balances and payments.
• Create new customers within the Statewide Financial System in order to bill.
• Perform other duties as required.
Additional Comments Successful completion of the two year traineeship leads to appointment as a Senior Accountant, SG-18.
