Minimum Qualifications Current permanent status as an Addictions Counselor 2 and qualified for a lateral transfer ~OR~ Eligible for appointment from the current Addictions Counselor 2 eligible list. Applicants must possess current registration as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in New York State and one year post-CASAC professional counseling experience. Continued employment in this title requires maintenance of credentials. CK Post ATC is a Tobacco-Free facility.
Duties Description The Addiction Counselor 2 will serve as a senior member of the Clinical team providing clinical services with a marked degree of independence. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Provide direct clinical services to young male population (18-25) within the 818 In-Patient Rehabilitation unit.
- Provide individual and group counseling to young male population
- Provide clinical reviews for third party insurers and other managed care providers, including continuing authorization requests.
- Design and implement specialized didactic lectures specific to young male population.
- Supervise staff as assigned.
- Provide consultation to less senior staff in all clinical documentation.
- Institute, when clinically appropriate, collateral contact with family/ significant other as needed.
- Incorporate, when clinically appropriate, family sessions as a part of a treatment plan..
- Conduct family assessments, when clinically appropriate, to assess stability of transition and discharge plans.
- Assess patient needs and complete Comprehensive Assessments and Treatment Plans
- Establish outreach connections with the geographic catchment area, via marketing and other forms of public presentations.
- Review/completion of all clinical documents and consent forms in order to meet established Quality Assurance indicators.
- Responsible for writing incident reports and submitting to the Justice Center as appropriate.
- Provide clinical updates to MCO/BHO.
- Participate in CARF credentialing as a member of internal Quality Assurance Team.
- Assess patient needs and complete Comprehensive Assessments and Treatment Plans.
This position provides constant intervention, initial assessment of patient issues, and continual monitoring of the patient milieu.
Additional Comments Location pay: $ 3,026.
