Salary RangeFrom $28865 to $35704 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title, or one year permanent competitive service in a title allocated to a SG-4 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law; or eligible for 55b/c appointment.

Duties Description This position will be responsible for the following tasks:
• Welcoming visitors and directing them to their assigned investigator or appropriate staff;
• Providing visitors with a claim application to complete;
• Responding to general questions;
• Answering incoming calls and directing callers to appropriate staff by using Claims Assistant (CA), taking messages, transferring calls to the Albany and/or Buffalo offices, checking voicemail messages and returning calls;
• Using CA to check claims status;
• Mailing out applications when requested;
• Data entering claim applications into the CA;
• Opening incoming courier and mail, and distributing documents and police reports appropriately;
• Preparing outgoing courier, stamping outgoing mail, logging incoming Certified, Fed Ex, Airborne, DHL and Express mail, and preparing UPS invoices and arranging for pick up via computer;
• Labeling and scanning all incoming mail, making sure it is attached and forwarding to Albany for filing;
• Coordinating and maintaining functionality of postage machine and courier supplies;
• Maintaining inventory and ordering office supplies (paper for copy machines, envelopes, etc.) when necessary; and
• Coordinating monthly Victim Assistance Program (VAP) Trainings.
