Minimum Qualifications Qualifications:
• Coursework completed towards a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must have a working knowledge of CAD.
Preferred Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) a plus

Duties Description We currently have an opportunity for a Temporary Drafter to work at our headquarters in Albany, NY. This position is located in our Upstate Design Department. Under the supervision of an Architect, Senior Architect, Chief Architect, Project Manager or Regional Project Manager, the Temporary Drafter aids in the design process, with the administration of professional services contracts for consultants providing design services to the Authority, and with formal reviews of consultant prepared design documents throughout all phases of building design. The Temporary Drafter also assists the Architect and other unit staff in performing periodic quality assurance construction site visits and provides technical support on an as needed basis throughout all phases of the project. The salary for this position is $15.00 per hour.
Primary Responsibilities
• Under the direction of the Architect or other unit staff, provide drafting and other technical assistance in the design and construction of in-house design projects.
• Under the direction of the Architect or other unit staff, provide assistance in the management and project development during the pre-design and design phases of the project.
• Under the direction of the Architect or other unit staff, perform periodic site visits to projects under construction and monitor the quality of design and construction work performed by architects, engineers, consultants, contractors and sub-contractors.
• Provide technical assistance to unit staff, other Construction division staff and client representatives.
• Assist in performing investigations of specific problems including architectural/engineering analysis and recommendations.
• Assist in the development, compilation and distribution of technical data.
• Prepare technical research for the Architect and other unit staff pertaining to specific technical topics.
• Accompany unit staff to project meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
