Minimum Qualifications Candidates for the positions of Special Assistant Attorney General must possess excellent analytical, writing, communication and organizational skills, and a minimum of four (4) years of practice experience. Candidates should also demonstrate: (1) the ability to articulate the critical issues in a case accurately and precisely; (2) strong research and interpersonal skills; (3) good judgment; (4) the ability to work independently and to work productively as a team member; and (5) the ability to work in a supportive and professional manner with professional staff and support staff.

Duties Description The Office of the New York State Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit in New York City is seeking experienced prosecuting attorneys who will lead investigations of financial fraud in the healthcare industry, present evidence to grand juries, and conduct evidentiary hearings and trials in New York State courts. Applicants for prosecutorial positions should have substantial grand jury and trial experience that preferably includes the investigation and prosecution of financial crimes. Experience drafting and overseeing the execution of search and eavesdropping warrants is a plus.

Additional Comments Salary to be determined commensurate with experience.

Applicants must reside in (or intend to soon become a resident of) New York State and be admitted to practice law in New York State. In addition, the Public Officers Law requires that attorneys in the Office be citizens of the United States.
