Minimum Qualifications We are seeking a senior attorney with at least twelve (12) years of prosecutorial experience, including significant experience in the investigation of white-collar crimes utilizing techniques such as search warrants, wiretaps, cooperating witnesses, undercover operations and forensic analysis of large volumes of documents and financial records. The candidate must have substantial grand jury and trial experience, be highly motivated and results-oriented, and possess excellent communication and writing skills.

Attorneys must reside in (or intend to soon become a resident of) New York State and be admitted to practice law in New York State. In addition, the Public Officers Law requires that OAG attorneys be citizens of the United States.

Duties Description The Office of the New York State Attorney General (OAG) is seeking a Unit Chief to oversee the Auto Insurance Fraud Unit (AIFU), located in Manhattan. AIFU is a unit within the Criminal Enforcement and Financial Crimes Bureau and has statewide jurisdiction to investigate and prosecute auto insurance fraud and related crimes, including investigations into corrupt doctors, lawyers, healthcare providers, steerers, hospital employees, lay owners of medical facilities, auto body shops, insurance brokers, and participants in staged accidents. AIFU includes attorneys, investigators, auditors and analysts who conduct in-depth, long-term criminal investigations and prosecute cases from charging through conviction.

The AIFU Chief is responsible for overall management of the Unit, including: directly supervising a staff of five AIFU attorneys; overseeing a team of over a dozen AIFU investigators, analysts and auditors; generating cases; managing relationships with partner law enforcement and regulatory agencies; and supervising all investigations and prosecutions conducted by the Unit.
