Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades-worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course.
Must have and maintain a NYS Drivers license. Must have or obtain a Class B CDL within six months of appointment with appropriate endorsements.
Duties Description Employee will work on infrastructure and facilities at campgrounds, boat launches, flood control and recreational facilities, road systems, foot trails, as well as ground repair and maintenance. Experience in all phases of building trades, heavy equipment operation and a cdl are a plus. Working knowledge of safety standards and procedures. Ability to climb ladders and work on heights on scaffolds and platforms. Must possess a class B license or get a class B license within six months from appointment.
Will operate a chainsaw and must be able to successfully complete our chainsaw safety training course within 60 days of appointment. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain on foot carrying loads up to 75 lbs. Will work outside in adverse weather conditions. Must be able to respond to after hour emergencies and overtime may be required. Must be able to operate a standard shift. Will operate heavy machinery such as backhoes and bulldozers and must be able to load, unload, and trailer same in a safe and efficient manner. Candidates will perform routine repairs and maintenance on equipment. May be required to supervise one or more personnel in completing routine job assignments. May not be assigned the same job start location each day. Should expect to be assigned anywhere in the working circle during work days.
