Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree and fifteen years of experience in a law enforcement entity in the area within which the crime analysis center is located. At least four years of this experience must have included executive level management AND two years in crime analysis. This crime analysis experience must have included using strategic, tactical and administrative analysis, which includes resource deployment, crime mapping, pattern identification and emerging trend recognition.
Preferred Qualifications: A Master's Degree is preferred. The preferred candidate will also have excellent networking capabilities with local law enforcement agencies and agency managers and directors and also a thorough understanding and familiarization of the DCJS IMPACT program and its goals.
Duties Description The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is recruiting for a Crime Analysis Center Director to manage our Monroe Crime Analysis Center. Reporting directly to the Deputy Commissioner for Public Safety, the incumbent will be responsible for not only managing the physical space but will also oversee the crime analysis program and provide direction to the multi-agency staff assigned to the particular Center. The Center serves as the main hub of technology and serves as an information-sharing network for the particular county. The goal of the Center is to analyze crime within the area, and to promote sharing of this information to local law enforcement to assist in selecting more effective tactics and formulating strategies to significantly reduce crime. The Director will maximize all information and intelligence sharing opportunities by enlisting the participation of various law enforcement and criminal justice agencies.
