Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:

OPWDD has committed to retraining every direct support professional, their supervisors and clinical staff. The Positive Relationships Offer More Opportunities to Everyone (PROMOTE) program is being implemented for this purpose. The Project Assistants will be required to complete the training in Positive Relationships Offer More Opportunities to Everyone (PROMOTE). This is an important task that requires the Project Assistants to achieve certification as PROMOTE Instructors and ultimately Instructor Trainers. These are temporary positions currently approved for up to a minimum of 18 months. Extension of the positions will be evaluated throughout the initial phase of the project.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The project assistants will be required to complete training in PROMOTE, achieve certification as PROMOTE instructors and ultimately as Instructor Trainers. Duties will include, but not be limited to:

• Provide direct training in PROMOTE to staff.

• Conduct PROMOTE Instructor Training Classes.

• Conduct Practice sessions to prepare instructor candidates for practice teaching and certification.

• Conduct instructor candidate observations for certification.

• Conduct quality assurance observations of previously certified Instructors.

• Participate in planning, review of implementation data and trend analysis.

• Travel extensively to meet rollout and Instructor development needs throughout New York State.
