Minimum Qualifications Four (4) year college degree in appropriate field (or equivalent work experience) plus three (3) years of progressively responsible work experience in a related field. A master's degree may substitute for one year of the required experience.

Duties Description The Arts Program Associate is responsible for all phases of the grants administration process at the Council on the Arts. Reporting to an Arts Program Director, duties of this position will include, but not be limited to, the following tasks:

Work closely with applicants to provide them with needed information and professional advice in preparation of applications.

Prepare applications in a variety of categories for competitive and comparative review by peer panels, attend performances, exhibits, and/or events of applicant organizations and make on-site visits when possible.

Evaluate applications, using analysis of both programmatic and fiscal criteria as set by the agency, and conduct application reviews on site or by telephone, as needed.

Prepare written reports, organizational reviews, statistical analyses and memoranda for peer review panels, using word processing and data spreadsheets computer programs.

Present grant analysis and recommendation before Panel, Council Grants Committee and Council, and as directed by Program Director communicates Council grant decisions and funding rationale to applicants.

Monitor contract compliance of grantees within program.

Assist the Arts Program Director in convening meeting, forums, workshops and seminars to address specific needs and concerns.

Collect and maintain data of field resources in coordination with Information Services, the Fiscal Management Unit, and Public Information Office; and analyze information and produce reports on specific topics of importance to the field.

Implement technical assistance programs and projects, program specific development projects and agency initiatives.

Represent the Program, in the absence of the Director, at meetings, symposia and professional conferences.

Additional Comments $3,026 Location pay.

Some evening and weekend work may be required.
