Minimum Qualifications Must currently be a permanent Nurse 2;
OR
Must currently be a permanent Nurse 1 with one year of post-licensure registered nurse clinical experience;
OR
Must be active and reachable on the Civil Service Eligible List for Nurse 2.
Duties Description The RN2 will case manage three IRA’s and one Respite House. Jonesville IRA has 8 Individuals with moderate health problems. The Church IRA and Benedict IRA’s are the home to 10 Individuals with minimal to moderate MR and/or behavioral issues. The farm to Market Respite home manages 5 Individuals per weekend.
Supervise overall individual's health care in medically fragile houses working with house management to implement optimal care. Assess individuals on an ongoing basis, identifying needs and updating nursing care plans.
.Working with the house leadership to coordinate appointments for primary visits, consultant services and required tests.
.Provides oversight to individuals when hospitalized including the discharge transition.
.Ensures that medications and treatments are administered according to approved policies and regulations. Provides adequate oversight to staff administering medications.
.Provides nursing component to the Interdisciplinary Team.
.Provide oversight and support to assigned voluntary agencies on an as-needed basis.
.Incident Investigation and other duties as assigned.
The Candidate must be able to perform CPR compressions on a supine individual on the floor. The Nurse demonstration of CPR compressions on the floor would ensure nurse ability to perform in worst case scenario; since we use no backboards in OPWDD.
The Candidate must be able to perform manual physical interventions of The Strategies in Crisis Intervention and Prevention course. The interventions include but are not limited to releases, holds and takedowns. Must be able to lift arms over the head, get on the floor in lying or kneeling position.
· A total of 5 hours deviation from the default schedule (hours before or after the regular work day).
· 4 hours a month are expected to be on a weekend day and would count toward the above deviation expectation.
