Minimum Qualifications Possession of a valid New York State Class B driver license.
Preferred Qualifications
Good organizational and communication skills; ability to work well independently; ability to handle multiple and changing assignments; certificate to operate a pallet jack/stand up forklift; and ability to lift up to 70lbs.
Duties Description The incumbent will be assigned to the Operations Management Group’s Mail & Supply / Maintenance Unit. Primary duties include driving mail & supply delivery vehicles to/from the Department’s eight satellite offices in the Capital District, and making other trips, as needed; moving and loading/unloading cargo to/from vehicles, loading docks, mail rooms and storage areas, utilizing pallet jacks and stand up forklift, as necessary; and completing various mail & supply related forms. Additional duties include moving surplus equipment and furniture between office sites and OGS surplus warehouses; maintaining mail & supply vehicles; performing small scale maintenance duties; and providing backup to other mail and supply functions.
Additional Comments Contingent-Permanent, non-competitive appointment. Applicants will be required to present proof of valid NYS Class B driver license at interview. Continued possession of a valid NYS Class B driver license is required to maintain employment.
