Minimum Qualifications Must have a valid driver's license or be able to meet the transportation needs of the position. On occasion will be required to attend meetings/training in New Paltz, NY or at other State/Government office buildings. This is a year round 80% position, but program needs and funding will determine the actual termination date. Work schedule will be discussed at the interview. There are no minimum educational requirements. You will be required to demonstrate that you meet the minimum proficiency in keyboarding. Preferred candidates will have experience in Microsoft Word.
*Must be able to type at least 35 words per minute with at least 96% accuracy. Test given at interview. If you have taken the typing test documentation must be provided that within the last five years, you have been successful on a five-minute typing performance test. Documentation of the test results must be on official letterhead or an official notice of the results of a typing test administered by an acceptable source: Personnel offices of State agencies, county, city, town, or village municipalities which administer the Type Test developed by the Department of Civil Service OR from a school, college, university or learning institution. Official test results from a high school, college or university keyboarding course. Official test from BOCES or EEOC program.
Duties Description Provide administrative and reception duties. Greet visitors, schedule appointments and conference rooms, type correspondence, reports and other data, filing, process incoming and out going mail and perform other clerical functions. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
