Minimum Qualifications Must possess two years in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trade's worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course. Must possess and maintain a valid New York State driver's license. Must be able to read simple blue prints. Must be able to perform semiskilled carpentry activities such as repairing/replacing doors, building decks and stairs, repairing/ replacing windows, installing hardware. Perform semiskilled repairs to plumbing systems such as repairing sinks, toilets unclogging drains, soldering copper pipes, gluing PVC pipe and threading pipe. Must possess knowledge of semiskilled masonry such as mixing cement and mortar, laying brick and blocks. Must have a working knowledge of construction equipment's operation and maintenance such as back hoes, bulldozers, farm tractors and attachments. Must have a working knowledge of general safety procedures and personal protective equipment. Must be able to work alone in remote areas without direct supervision. Must be able to traverse rough terrain. Must be able to lift 50 Lbs. Must be willing to work outside during inclement weather conditions. Must a a good communicator, having good people skills, willing and able to deal with difficult individuals without unduly escalating the situation. Must have basic computer skills.

Duties Description Will be responsible to work along with crews at remote construction projects and during routine maintenance. Will be required to understand construction techniques and be able to read a simple blue print. Will work with other construction personnel on a wide variety of construction and demolition projects. May also be assigned to work alone or with laborers and follow direction from supervision to complete construction projects. Must have a working knowledge of construction tools, equipment and materials. Will be responsible to follow DEC safety procedures correctly use personal protective equipment. Will be responsible to secure equipment if left in remote areas. Must report any major mechanical problems.

Additional Comments This is a temporary appointment with a duration of 5/19/16-11/30/16.

May be required to work alone. Work hours/work days may vary depending on daily duties, must be available to work weekends and Holidays, 40 hours per week/8 hours per day, work locations will vary and should be available to work anywhere in the Warrensburg working circle.
