Minimum Qualifications There are no education or experience qualifications for this class. Laborers must be physically able to perform the duties assigned. Incumbents must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. May require travel, overtime and response to after hour emergencies.

Duties Description Will use and operate a variety of hand and power tools, motorized equipment including self-propelled and stationary machinery, and construction equipment. Will operate a chainsaw and must be able to successfully complete our chainsaw safety training course within 60 days of appointment. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain on foot carrying loads up to 50 lbs. Will work outside in adverse weather conditions. Must be able to respond to after hour emergencies and overtime may be required. Preferred candidate will be able to perform routine repairs and maintenance on equipment. Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. May not be assigned the same job start location each day. Should expect to be assigned anywhere in the working circle during work days. Projects are located in Dutchess, Putnam, Orange, Rockland, Sullivan, Westchester and Ulster counties. More details on job sites will be discussed at the interview.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the use of hand and power tools, axes, shovels, chain saws and power mowers.

Additional Comments This is a temporary position with a duration of 7/15/16 - 3/31/17.
