Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in research, planning, program analysis or evaluation relating to human services or criminal or juvenile justice. Master’s degree is equivalent to one year experience.

Duties Description
Under direction of the Director of Crossover Initiatives, this position will be responsible for developing, implementing and assessing the impact of practice and policy initiatives. The specific areas of focus are youth in detention on a PINS or JD matter, youth placed in local social service district custody on a PINS or delinquency, or youth who are returning to the community after placement with a local social service district. Understanding of risk assessment tools and best-practices in adolescent residential care is a plus.

The candidate should possess a working knowledge of NY State’s local juvenile justice and child welfare systems, be familiar with county government structure. The candidate should have the ability to work independently, have excellent organizational and communication abilities, and be willing to travel in New York State. Proficiency in power point, excel and word; ability to represent the agency publicly on the work is required. This is a new unit, so ability to work in a “start-up” environment is expected.

Candidates with a history of court involvement as a youth, or child welfare experiences are encouraged to apply.
