Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree and four years of experience in planning, organizing or operating youth services or community organizing related to human services. One year of this experience must be in supervision or management of a major program or in supervision of an evaluation or analysis program relating to these functions. A Master’s degree may be substituted for two years of the general experience.
Duties Description Title: Director of Crossover Initiatives
Reporting to the Associate Commissioner, this position will oversee work related to youth in local social service district placed on delinquencies and PINS. The position will work on related Juvenile Justice and Child Welfare reforms and areas of intersection between the two, residential campuses, and other area as they arise. This is a new unit, and will work in collaboration with the Bureau of Youth Development, the Bureau of Detention Services and the Office of Close to Home Oversight and System Improvement.
The candidate should have a working knowledge of juvenile justice and child welfare practice and funding streams in New York State, be able to analyze and utilize local and statewide data and to present the data coherently to constituents. The candidate should be highly organized and able to address multiple complex issues across several agency areas. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to work independently and to collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
