Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be currently matriculated undergraduate or graduate college students. Documentation of current enrollment must be submitted with your resume.

Preferred Qualifications
College level coursework in biology, entomology, ecology or arthropod-borne diseases. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work both independently and as part of a team. Experience using various software packages, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Access. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors and performing physical activity.

Duties Description The Student Assistants will perform activities related to enhanced mosquito surveillance. Duties will include: deploying and maintaining adult and larval mosquito traps; collecting, sorting and identifying specimens; preparing and processing specimens for laboratory analysis; assisting in research activities; and collaborating with various public health partners.

Additional Comments Temporary, hourly, non-competitive. It is anticipated that these positions will be full-time at all locations through the summer, and may continue on a part-time basis through October 31, 2016. Regular travel is required and will include travel to areas that may not be served by public transportation. Duties will involve physical and outdoor activities. Since there is potential for exposure to infectious material and/or medical risks associated with this position, candidates who accept appointment may be required to wear protective equipment and/or undergo pre-employment and periodic medical monitoring. Candidates must maintain student status in order to retain and maintain continued employment.
