Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Reassignment: One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as a Senior Administrative Analyst.

Section §70.1 or §52.6 Transfer to Senior Administrative Analyst: One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title SG-16 or above deemed eligible for transfer under §70.1 or §52.6 of the Civil Service Law.

Section §70.1 or §52.6 Transfer to Senior Administrative Analyst Trainee 1: One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title SG-11 or above deemed eligible for transfer under §70.1 or §52.6 of the Civil Service Law.

Eligible List Appointment: Candidates who are reachable on the New York State Education Department’s Public Administration Trainee Transition (PATT) eligible list, the Public Management Intern (PMI) eligible list, or the Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) eligible list may be considered for appointment. Appointees from the PCO, PATT, or PMI lists require completion of a two-year traineeship. Some transfers may also require completion of a traineeship.

Section §70.4 Transfer: A candidate may be eligible for nomination for §70.4 transfer to Administrative Assistant if they have standing on the PCO, PMI or New York State Education Department’s PATT (with bachelor’s degree) eligible lists and are currently a New York State employee in a title allocated to SG-16 or higher. A candidate may be eligible for nomination for §70.4 transfer to Administrative Assistant Trainee 1 if they have standing on the eligible list and are currently a New York State employee in a title allocated to SG-11 or higher.

Duties Description The New York State Education Department’s Office of Education Policy is seeking candidates to fill a Senior Administrative Analyst position in the Office Educational Design and Technology. This Office guides the effective integration of technology to transform learning environments statewide and supports innovations that maximize school and learner success. The incumbent of this position will conduct studies and analysis to identify organizational inefficiencies, assist in the development and implementation of operating systems, and review and update organizational policy and manuals. Other duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide administrative support and management of new and existing work;
• Resolve issues with user accounts, Department programs and e-mail list management software;
• Analyze and interpret data from various systems using appropriate analytical tools and statistical measurements and write detailed reports;
• Create written procedures;
• Collaborate with leadership on program planning, improvements to existing systems, and transitioning to new systems and advise colleagues as appropriate;
• Respond to requests for information and provide technical assistance in a timely manner;
• Establish project timelines; and
• Implement projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Comments CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This will be a contingent permanent appointment. Filling of this position is contingent upon Division of Budget approval. Promotions and transfers may change appointees’ negotiating unit. Applicants should be aware that changes in negotiating units may affect their salary, insurance, and other benefits. Verification of degree will be required.

*Leads to a maximum salary of $66,494 based on annual performance advances.

The salary listed above applies to candidates appointed to Senior Administrative Analyst, SG-18. The hiring rate for candidates appointed to Administrative Assistant Trainee 1 starts at $39,713, and for current NYS employees, is based on the candidate’s salary at the time of hire. Candidates hired into a traineeship will be advanced to Administrative Assistant upon successful completion of a two year traineeship.
