Minimum Qualifications To be considered, candidates must have:

A. Experience

Four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative, consultative or supervisory experience in a mental health program including at least one of the following:

One (1) year of satisfactory experience in a position as administrative head of a multi-disciplinary treatment team.

OR

One (1) year of satisfactory supervisory, professional or administrative experience in the development, operation and/or implementation of the mental health service delivery system for State facilities, counties or local/private agencies in two (2) or more of the following areas: program development, management procedure, community organization, resource planning, funding, program proposals, advisory boards, consumer and community advocacy and intergovernmental relations.

AND

B. Education

A Master's degree in a mental hygiene discipline (including physician assistant, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, speech pathology and audiology, communication disorders, psychology, recreation therapy, rehabilitation counseling, education, nursing), hospital administration, community mental health, business or public administration or other administrative area specifically related to health care, behavioral or social science from an accredited school; or a valid license to practice medicine in New York State or Canada. Current registration or licensure required where applicable.

Additionally, all candidates must be eligible to participate in Federal health care programs (e.g., Medicaid). Individuals excluded from participation in these programs will not be considered.

Duties Description The Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center 1 - Operations (DDPC 1 Operations) will serve as HPC's Director of Community Operations and Services. Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the DDPC 1 Operations will plan, supervise, and evaluate the effectiveness of HPC's community-based programs and services, including: outpatient clinics serving 1,800 + adults, children and adolescents, residential programs, including State- operated Community Residence (SOCRs), Family Care, an Apartment Program, Adult Respite, a Child Crisis Residence: and rehabilitation/support programs, including Mobile Integration Team (MITs), Peer Services, vocational services, and a skills program. In addition, the DDPC 1 Operations will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong, productive relationships with community partners.

Additional Comments Hutchings Psychiatric Center (HPC) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center 1 - Operations. Located in Syracuse, New York, HPC provides a full range of quality outpatient and inpatient services to adults and children covering a five (5) county service area in Upstate New York. These services are delivered in a respectful, safe and caring environment with a primary focus on hope and recovery. They promote a system of care in which treatment, rehabilitation and recovery are realized through ongoing collaboration with patients, their families and the service providers within the facility’s catchment area.
