Minimum Qualifications Currently employed as an Addictions Counselor 1 ~OR~ Current registration as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in NYS and one year post-CASAC professional counseling experience and reachable on the Addictions Counselor 1 eligible list ~OR~ eligible for transfer. Applicants must possess current registration as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in New York State. Candidate must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs. Failure to maintain certification and Medicaid/Medicare eligibility will result in the termination of employment.
Bronx ATC is a Tobacco-Free Facility.
Duties Description a. Coordinate and oversee Bronx ATC intake/admissions processes, procedures, outcomes and maintain 90% fill level.
b. Conduct initial review of referral packets to ensure that all required documentation is available for appropriate admission determination, medical and psychiatric review. Maintain an up to date scheduled admission calendar. Work with the clinical team to strategically reconcile admissions with planned discharges. Completes and tracks insurances to ensure appropriate admissions with initial insurance pre-authorization and maintains required logs/calendars. In consultation with Director/AD compiles waivers for any admissions that do not have insurance/insurance pre-authorization.
c. Conduct clearance for EMEDNY and EPACES, ensure compliance with level of care determination protocols and procedures. Conduct ongoing quality assurance of admissions related; AVATAR, CDS and HCS/LOCADTR and HERDS data entry systems. Train and supervise admission staff on required admissions processes to ensure both effective and efficient running of the Department. Supervise AC1s, ACAs, and interns who are assigned to work within the admissions department.
d. Ensure proper search procedures for contraband are adhered to and secure patients’ property in designated safe as per set procedures and protocols. Coordinate scheduling of the monthly interdepartmental admission meetings and morning huddles, maintain records as needed. Participate in planning and facilitating of outreach activities to collaborating/referring providers and agencies as needed. Organize Bronx ATC Annual/Summer Open House.
e. Serves as a member of the facility leadership team and provides supervisory oversight of weekend programming on rotational basis as needed. Provides clinical back-up as needed. Transport/pick up patients as needed
f. Perform all other tasks/duties as assigned by line supervisor and/or Bronx ATC Administration.
Additional Comments Location pay: $ 3,026.
