Current New York State Liquor Authority employees with permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service as a Licensing Services Clerk Trainee and interested in reassignment; OR current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service as a Licensing Services Clerk Trainee
Section 70.1 Transfer:
Licensing Services Clerk: A current New York State employee with one year of permanent competitive service in a clerical, secretarial or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 7 or higher.
OR
Licensing Services Clerk Trainee: A current New York State employee with one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/c service in a clerical, secretarial or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 6 or higher. After successful completion of the one year traineeship, incumbents will automatically advance to Licensing Services Clerk, SG-9.

Duties Description • The incumbent will be responsible for the examination, and processing of various applications including renewals, permits, and license applications. The position requires the review of contracts of sale, leases, financial documentation, diagrams, personal data forms and Division of Criminal Justice reports.
• The candidate will also be required to research State Liquor Authority legal systems for applicant and premises histories with the Authority.
• The candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
• The ability to write reports clearly and concisely based on the facts of an application is a must.
• The candidate will need to be able to research, read and interpret various Alcoholic Beverage Control laws, rules, regulations and policies governing the licensing process.
• Candidates may be asked to assist with various additional tasks which include, but are not limited to data entry, license/permit issuance, mail room or front desk coverage and occasional face to face contact with the public.
