Minimum Qualifications Must have a doctorate and minimum of four years of professional experience in psychiatric research.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Medical training is desirable. The candidate should ideally possess MD/PhD and expertise in the use of brain imaging techniques to study psychotic disorders. The candidate should be a leader of an independent research program, should possess a strong track record of publication and research funding success, and should demonstrate ease in establishing and maintaining cross-disciplinary collaborations.

Duties Description The ideal candidate is expected to make significant contributions to the study of the etiology and underlying mechanisms of psychiatric disorders, in particular psychotic disorders. The candidate is expected to apply expertise in brain imaging techniques to the study of psychosis, with the goal of improving understanding, treatment, and prevention. More specifically, the candidate’s research should emphasize the use of imaging techniques (e.g., fMRI) to investigate disruptions in neural mechanisms of learning and cognition that are linked to psychotic disorders and that can be targeted in the development of early intervention strategies and novel treatments. The candidate will help to expand the Institute’s research portfolio and the MRI Research Program by helping to plan and execute a new operational oversight structure of the MRI Research Program, by serving as a scientific advisor to the Program, and by building intra-institutional and cross-institutional research collaborations.
