Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Reassignment: One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as a Public Buildings Manager 1.

Eligible List Appointment: Candidates who are reachable on the Public Buildings Manger 1 eligible list may be considered for appointment.

Duties Description The New York State Education Department’s (NYSED) Office of Facilities and Business Services (OFBS) is seeking applicants to fill a Public Building Manager 1 position. The OFBS is responsible for providing or arranging for building services. The incumbent of this position will engage in custodial services, maintenance, and security by assigning work and inspecting the results for quality and safety. Other duties of this position will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Administer a building maintenance program by scheduling preventative maintenance;
• Initiate work orders;
• Recommend modification to existing procedures;
• Supervise the acquisition and storage of supplies and materials;
• Observe and enforce compliance with applicable codes, ordinances, and laws;
• Perform on-site evaluation of service contracts;
• Advise tenants and users of upcoming repairs to facilities that may result in disruption to services or access;
• Investigate tenant complaints regarding health, comfort, and safety concerns;
• Resolve grievances and report contractual infractions; and
• Perform maintenance and snow removal, as necessary.

Additional Comments CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This will be a permanent appointment. Filling of this position is contingent upon Division of the Budget approval. Promotions and transfers may change appointees’ negotiating unit. Applicants should be aware that changes in negotiating units may affect their salary, insurance, and other benefits.

*Leads to a maximum salary of $54,678 based on annual performance advances.
