Salary RangeFrom $85163 to $104895 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of increasing responsibility in information technology, fiscal administration, or in a healthcare administration role that required interaction with healthcare information technology systems and oversight of system change; OR an Associate’s degree and seven (7) years of such experience; OR nine (9) years of such experience. A Master’s degree may substitute for one (1) additional year of experience The candidate must also demonstrate:

• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Preferred qualifications include:
• Knowledge of insurance payor types including Medicaid, Medicare, managed care, and commercial insurance.
• Experience with Revenue Cycle Management in a health care setting including the handling of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and working with clearinghouses and HIPAA-mandated reporting formats.
• Project Management certification.
• Supervisory experience.
Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Project Coordinator, NS to oversee a multi-year project to replace its existing mainframe billing and patient account systems. The incumbent will report to the Director of the State Operations Finance Group (SOFG) within OMH’s Office of Financial Management. SOFG is responsible for billing which generates more than $1.1 billion in revenue annually for OMH as a provider of inpatient, outpatient, and residential services at its 23 hospitals statewide. OMH is seeking to replace these aging, proprietary systems with an outside vendor that specializes in medical billing services and revenue cycle management. In today’s transformative health care environment, it’s critical that systems are up-to-date to ensure that revenue flow is not only maintained, but maximized. The Project Coordinator will lead a multi-disciplinary team of finance and IT staff and consultants, and the selected vendor to implement the solution. The incumbent will be integral to coordinating internal and external resources to ensure the effective execution of the project goal.
The incumbent will be responsible for an array of duties including:
• Assisting OMH leadership in the definition of the project scope and objectives, including the drafting of a request for proposals (RFP) for a vendor and developing the evaluation criteria for the proposal.
• Building and managing a team of professional staff to direct report to the incumbent to assist in project implementation.
• Building and fostering a team of ‘dotted line’ multi-disciplinary subject matter experts, including partners from Office of Technology Services (OITS) from Billing Applications, Security, and the Data Warehouse (State staff and consultants).
• Ensuring the billing solution works with OMH’s electronic medical records (EMR) systems including the VistA EMR project currently under development.
• Ensuring that the project is delivered on-time, and is within scope and within budget.
• Developing and managing a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress and make adjustments to the project scope, schedule, and costs as necessary
• Reporting on-going progress to management and escalate problems and identified risks as needed.
• Establishing and maintaining a relationship with the selected vendor, conducting weekly meetings during implementation, and holding the vendor accountable to contract deliverables.
