Experience/Skills:
The successful candidate should have at least 5 years of experience providing executive level and possess the following skills:

•Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access), and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
•Strong proofreading and research skills.
•Ability to work independently under general direction, self-motivated, attentive to detail, and able to handle several projects simultaneously.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills with professional telephone etiquette and the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with internal and external constituents.
•Familiarity with New York state travel guidelines preferred.

Duties Description The State University of New York (SUNY), the nation’s largest and most comprehensive system of public higher education, invites nominations and applications for the position of Administrative Assistant to the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost. This position will report to the Director of Provost’s Office Operations, and will be located in Albany, New York.

General Responsibilities: The Administrative Assistant provides professional-level administrative support to the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor of the State University of New York System and also helps to support the Provost Office staff. The assistant will prepare briefing materials for all meetings, a responsibility that will require extensive interaction with staff and a working knowledge of office and System priorities. The Administrative Staff Assistant will be responsible for assisting in maintaining the Provost’s calendar, including some scheduling and organizing of meetings; establishing or refining office procedures including enhancements to the office’s electronic filing system. The ideal candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; be able to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external constituents; possess strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Access) Adobe Acrobat Professional; be highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects while working against tight deadlines; have great attention to detail and excellent organizational skills; and be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
