Minimum Qualifications 30 semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries, marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography.
Must have a valid drivers license to meet the transportation needs of the position. Travel and overnight travel may be required. Weekends and holidays may me required. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
Duties Description Incumbent will be involved in conducting surveys for New England cottontail and wintering hawks and owls, assisting with data entry and data summarization related to work on these species. Assistance with live trapping and possibly radio-telemetry for these species may be undertaken. Experience in the use of GPS, GIS and Excel, as well as the ability to identify habitat types from aerial photographs is essential. This position involves travel from the office to study sites and will require long days and early morning or evening hours on occasion.
