Minimum Qualifications Reachable on Civil Service list OR

One year of permanent competitive service as a Physician Assistant or eligible for a 70.1 transfer OR

Provisional Qualifications: Must be licensed and currently registered as a Physician Assistant by the New York State Education Department or possess a limited permit to practice as a Physician Assistant in New York State.

Duties Description
Provide primary health care to youth under direction of a licensed physician.

Perform routine medical examinations on clients, write prescriptions and submit them to the physician for countersignature, order standard laboratory and x-ray procedures, and evaluate laboratory tests.

Insure accurate records are maintained for residents on all matter pertaining to health.

When necessary, refer abnormal findings to the physician and initiate proper treatment for emergency cases.
