Minimum Qualifications Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled journey-level position which would provide training equivalent to that given in an apprenticeship program. Apprentice training in a trade or training gained by the completion of technical courses in a trade at a school or institute may be substituted for the above experience on a year-for-year basis.
Working knowledge of procedures, materials and tools used in the maintenance, repair and installation of equipment.
Working knowledge of properties and qualities of various gases and solutions.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, specifications, blueprints and schematic drawings.
Ability to recognize and rectify mechanical and electrical problems and to do other trade related work, ie; plumbing, carpentry and masonry.
Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolds, and work at heights.
Ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor.
CFC certification preferred.
Must have a valid NYS drivers license.
Duties Description Be skilled or semi-skilled in a combination of trades in order to complete the repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment. Supervise a group of employees. Effectively communicate with others for the purpose of exchanging information and to give guidance on operations.
