Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Reassignment to a different shift and/or location: The Senior Security Officer with the most seniority who is interested in switching to a different shift or location is eligible for reassignment.
Eligible List Appointment: Candidates who are reachable on the Senior Security Officer eligible list may be considered for appointment.
§70.1 Transfer: One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as a Security Services Assistant 2.
Duties Description The New York State Education Department’s Office of Facilities and Business Services is seeking applicants for a Senior Security Officer position. Under the direction of the Chief Security Officer, major responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Coordinate the activities of Security Officers;
• Evaluate the performance of Security Officers and take any necessary corrective actions;
• Advise Security Officers and local office managers on resolution of security-related problems;
• Review log books of Security Officers on a weekly basis;
• Assign staff replacements to provide necessary coverage during vacations and other absences; and
• Perform other duties at other Albany locations as needed.
Additional Comments CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This will be a permanent appointment. Promotions and transfers may change appointee’s negotiating unit. Applicants should be aware that changes in negotiating units may affect their salary, insurance, and other benefits. Continued employment as a Senior Security Officer is dependent upon maintaining a current Security Guard Photo ID issued by the New York State Department of State. Failure to maintain this ID will result in removal from employment.

*Leads to a maximum salary of $49,893 based on annual performance advances.
**Position will likely be filled on this shift in the building listed. If current staff bid to change shifts, their current shift assignment will be backfilled.
