Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

PROMOTION: One year of permanent service in an Affirmative Action, Personnel, Minority Business, Employment Compliance, Labor Relations, or Training position allocated at or above Grade 18.
OR
OPEN and NON-COMPETITIVE: Seven years of experience in equal employment opportunity, human rights, or affirmative action. Qualifying experience includes working with community service organizations concerned with affirmative action, equal opportunity, civil rights, diversity management, minority business development, or similar programs; recruiting, training, and upgrading the educational and job qualifications of protected class members; or working in human resources in areas directly related to affirmative action. A Bachelor’s Degree may substitute for four years of experience, Associates Degree for two years; and Juris Doctorate or Master’s Degree for one year.
The successful candidate must possess excellent organizational and writing skills. A writing sample must be submitted upon request from OPWDD.

Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

At the Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), we work to facilitate an environment that allows everyone to be successful, the people we serve, their families and our employees. The Affirmative Action Administrator 2, reporting to the Director of Equal Opportunity, provides expertise in maintaining a workplace that is inclusive, respectful and free from discrimination, intolerance, harassment and retaliation. This position will help implement and monitor affirmative action and equal employment opportunity programs, including requests for religious and reasonable accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act and other applicable laws or regulations. The responsibilities of this position include:
• Investigate affirmative action, discrimination and sexual harassment complaints made by or against OPWDD employees.
• Review and analyze requests for religious and reasonable accommodation.
• Draft findings and review documentation related to investigations.
• Prepare administrative reports.
• Draft policy statements about the program for OPWDD executive staff.
• Effectively communicate with all levels of employees at OPWDD.
• Be familiar with existing and revised laws, rules, regulations and policies governing the program and help to assure that OPWDD comply with them.
• Maintain liaison with other state agencies and authorities relative to EO and affirmative action issues.
• Direct and conduct meetings for OPWDD employees and others about EO and affirmative action programs.
• Other related duties as assigned.
• Travel is Required
