Minimum Qualifications 30 semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries, marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography.
Must have a valid NYS driver's license.
Duties Description Candidate will assist in Big Game and Migratory Bird programs by assisting Biologist with big game harvest checks, Chronic Wasting Disease disease surveillance, Deer Management Assistance Program and preseason waterfowl banding. Candidate will participate with nuisance wildlife response including but not limited to black bear, deer and wild turkey damage. Candidate will issue nuisance take permits for various species and maintain appropriate records. Staff will participate in outreach events as necessary and provide technical assistance to the public on a wide range of wildlife and hunting/trapping related topics. Experience with Access database software and excellent GIS skills required. Candidate may at times work in inclement weather conditions/temperatures, work early/late hours and work individually. Good interpersonal skills also required. Candidate will need to get Rabies pre-exposure series shots.

This is a temporary seasonal hourly appointment ending no later than 11/30/17. Program needs will determine actual termination date, which may be prior to 11/30/17.
