Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled tradesman or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course. Candidates are expected to be qualified to use negative
pressure respirators. Valid NYS Driver’s license required.

Duties Description SUMMER HELP, Expect to fill up to 4 positions by 5/19/17

Title: Maintenance Assistant (Plumbing Shop), Hourly / Temp
Location: Facilities / PLUMBING SHOP
Salary: $12 - $18 per hour
Grade: NS
Hours: various / 40 hours / to be determined at interview
Duration: Temporary Hourly Approx 3-4 Months


OPERATING NEEDS:

Experience in plumbing rough-in and finish work, underground water main service work, ability to solder, assemble pipe and fittings, ability to read diagrams, plans and specifications; ability to perform moderate to heavy manual labor, lift up to 60 pounds, dig holes to straighten water main valve boxes, operate underground valves with 8 foot long water main key; document daily work performed and valve information; work outdoors.
