Minimum Qualifications There are no education or experience qualifications for this class. Laborers must be physically able to perform the duties assigned. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Preferred qualifications: chainsaw certification and CPR/AED/First Aid training.

Duties Description Perform a variety of routine manual tasks requiring medium to heavy physical effort to assist in maintaining, constructing and repairing buildings, roads, offices, other structures, furniture, facilities and grounds. May use equipment, such as forklift, pallet jacks, power tools, dollies and hand trucks. Clean work areas, clean and lubricate mechanical and electrical equipment and assist in operating heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment. Operate and maintain motorized equipment and machinery. Answer simple questions, such as time and place of events, directions and general information about the facility, and explain facility rules and regulations. May lead volunteers assigned to work crews, load and unload heavy equipment, supplies and furniture from trucks by physically lifting items or operating a hand truck. Must be able to do manual work, such as picking up litter, raking, pushing lawnmowers, using zero-turn riding mower, weed trimmer, snow blowing, snow plowing, digging ditches, climbing roofs for repairs, cleaning rest rooms and buildings. Extra physical work may be required, such as operating a chainsaw, running a chipper or aiding in removing brush and/or firewood. All tasks are to be conducted in a safe manner, with any injuries/illnesses reported immediately to supervisor.

Additional Comments This is a temporary position with a duration of 5/18/17 through 3/31/18.

Actual work schedule and hours will be discussed at interview. Work hours are generally 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
