Minimum Qualifications Current Office of General Services employee with permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service as a Professional Engineer 2 (Civil/Construction) and interested in reassignment; OR current New York State employee with one year or more permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service as an Associate Building Construction Engineer and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Provisional appointment
One year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Senior Building Construction Engineer (Professional Engineer 1 (Civil/Construction)) AND you must possess a New York State Professional Engineering License with current registration at the time of appointment.
Duties Description Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to; Coordinating, reviewing and supervising new and rehabilitation building construction inspection projects; approve project schedules and extensions; negotiate and resolve issues at critical project meetings. Making recommendations and reviewing change order requests, field order requests and pricing of field order requests, as well as certify and stamp emergency designs. Ensuring certification for compliance of New York State Building Codes and provide adequate supervision for both field employees and consultants.
Additional Comments Position eligible for $3,026 location pay.
