Minimum Qualifications Reachable on Civil Service Eligible List, OR

One year of permanent competitive service as a Youth Counselor 2 or Youth Counselor 2 Spanish Language or eligible for a 70.1 transfer.

Note: If you are reachable on the Youth Counselor 2 list, you will receive a canvass letter.

Duties Description Supervise, evaluate, guide and mentor juvenile and youthful offenders, juvenile delinquents and other “at-risk” youth.

Maintain facility security and personal safety, interact with other agencies,
families and schools and placement of youth in appropriate treatment programs.

Participate in treatment team meetings.

Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.

Additional Comments Your actual duties may vary depending on the setting to which you are assigned, including secure, limited secure or non-secure residential centers, community residential homes, community foster care, intake services units, evening reporting centers, aftercare teams in the community and day placement programs.
