Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course.
Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plan, and lay out construction, repair and maintenance projects.
• Performs routine replacement of plumbing items, as instructed by a supervisor
• Performs semi-skilled carpentry projects to include, door repairs, floor tile repairs and installation.
• Assists in painting and prep work as may be required.
• May perform routine tasks in the electrical trade as may be asked, to include but not limited to lighting installations, switches and receptacles.
• May perform semi-skilled masonry repairs and installations.
• Performs maintenance, and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment including but not limited to bathroom exhaust fans, clothes dryers sump pumps and generators.
• Requires daily travel within the district.
• May require some travel within NY State to assist other districts with special projects.
• Candidate will be trained in the operation and maintenance procedures as related to Asbestos Containing Materials.
Additional Comments PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
• Working knowledge of safety standards and procedures.
• Working knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the trades assigned.
• Knowledge of applicable residential building codes.
• Knowledge in reading and interpretation of plans
• Candidate will be trained in the operation and maintenance procedures as related to Asbestos Containing Materials.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License.
