Salary RangeFrom $55494 to $70566 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Six years of experience in warehouse operations, supply chain management, and logistics. One year must have included supervision of staff.
An Associate’s degree can substitute for two years of non-supervisory experience; a Bachelor’s degree may substitute for four years of non-supervisory experience.
Duties Description Duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Responsible for the site specific daily administration, supervision, and management of positions assigned to the Office of General Services Consolidated Warehouse initiative:
• Conduct employee performance evaluations as required.
• Inform staff of available training opportunities and ensures mandatory requirements are satisfied within the NY State Learning Management System (SLMS).
• Review and approve employee time records in LATs.
• Process requests and maintain daily communication with tenant agencies. Verify received shipments and provide detailed summaries to agency contacts.
• Receive shipping requests, verify inventory, and communicate transaction completion accordingly.
• Possess a diverse knowledge of material handling equipment, storage solutions, space management, shipping diversity, inventory management, and code compliancy.
• Maintain accountability of warehouse items using SFS inventory system.
• Facility liaison for health and safety:
• Responsible for overseeing first aid medical station compliance.
• Update facility material safety data sheet (MSDS) records.
• Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) program liaison.
• Keep current with new safety and health practices/ procedures through literature review and participation in safety and health events.
• Direct and monitor the facility to ensure that it remains safe, secure, and well maintained.
• Research and suggest capital improvements, equipment purchases, and maintenance contracts.
• Analyze internal processes and recommend procedural or policy changes to improve operations.
• Interpret and communicate work procedures and agency policies to staff.
• Suggest the development and implementation of internal control policies and procedures governing inventory, storage, and shipping to ensure requirements are constantly met.
• Participate in OGS Consolidated Warehouse safety committee meetings with partner agencies.
• Serve as the secondary representative for the facility in communications or meetings with supply contractors, manufacturers, and representatives from various NYS agencies.
Operational Needs:
• Candidate must have two years of previous certification operating a forklift. Ability to operate a variety of materials handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Upon appointment, a forklift instructor certification will be required.
• Possess and maintain a valid New York State motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Ability to bend, lift, climb and to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 70 pounds.
• Flexibility to work in environments of fluctuating temperatures including limited periods outside, year-round.
• Within 60 days of appointment, obtain (and maintain) certification in CPR and comply with established safety procedures.
• Ability to respond to warehouse emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
