Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications for Provisional Appointments:

A bachelors or higher-level degree in agronomy, agriculture, agricultural engineering, animal science, biochemistry, biology, chemistry, entomology, environmental science, environmental studies, natural resources, forestry, forest biology, aquatic biology, marine biology, horticulture, botany, or plant pathology.

Duties Description Conduct inspections and investigations relating to pesticide-related activities; prepare reports, memos and letters; testify at administrative and criminal enforcement proceedings; administer certification examinations; monitor recertification training programs; process applications for certification exams and aquatic pesticide permits; provide public speaking, outreach and compliance assistance regarding federal and NYS pesticide laws, rules and regulations; and collect evidence and samples.

Additional Comments Appointee will be required to attaining your Pesticide Applicator Certification Number before completing the traineeship.

Appointee will be required to communicate clearly and effectively with the public and co-workers in person, on the telephone and in writing.

Appointee will be required to possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State or otherwise demonstrate their capacity to meet the transportation needs of the job.

Some positions may require additional credentials or a background check to verify your identity.
