Duties Description 1. Review post claim samples which entails contacting lenders to request default loan payment and servicing history on a sample of claims each month. The process requires a review of servicing and payment history to ensure the lender followed all applicable rules before filing the claim. Prepare an annual report to be filed with the Department of Education.

2. Review and process late paid claims by reviewing weekly reports, determining the timeliness of actions/transactions and if applicable, calculate the interest penalty to be assessed. Prepare data for the monthly report to be used for payment to the Department of Education on the monthly Guaranty Agency Financial Report (GAFR). Subsequent review of the late paid claims is required to ensure additional transactions did not occur to change late paid claim assessment.

3. Research and identify payments sent to HESC in error. Prepare Check Payment Requests (CPRs) to return payments sent to HESC in error.

4. Reconcile suspense accounts, research and resolve outstanding items such as Miscellaneous Suspense Accounts and Vendor Suspense Accounts.

5. Assist with TAP and Grants and Scholarship database by preparing TAP and Scholarship refunds for deposit and updating related databases and/or spreadsheets to record the refund.

6. Assist the Records Management Officer (RMO) in preparing records to be sent to the state records center, coordinating the transfer with State Archives and maintaining the lists of records at the records center.
