Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have a high school diploma and two years of experience in the construction, design, operation, and repair of special machines, tools, and/or equipment fabricated for laboratory use.
Duties Description Position Summary:
Laboratory Equipment Designers develop, design, repair, operate, and/or maintain laboratory devices and apparatus used for scientific research by scientists, research engineers, chemists, physicists, physicians, and other scientists. Laboratory equipment is designed and/or modified according to instructions from scientists in varying disciplines who describe the general nature of the experiment to be conducted and the type of equipment needed for the experiment. Laboratory Equipment Designers and work closely with research scientists throughout the testing and modifying of laboratory equipment process to ensure the equipment meets the requirements for the laboratory procedure.
