Minimum Qualifications This position is open to current or former NYS employees who have had at least one year of permanent, competitive service in a G-23 position that was deemed eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications:

• Past IT-related project experience preferred.

• Past experience working with federal grants may be helpful, but is not required.
• Comfortable with technology.
• Past experience writing SQL helpful, but not required.

Duties Description The Statewide Financial System (SFS) seeks employees with New York State experience to provide temporary assistance to SFS as it continues to expand functionality. Because of the nature of the work, individuals must possess a high level of New York State-specific knowledge including finance, budgeting and procurement.

Responsibilities:

This position is in the Solution Services Division, Statewide Accounting Application Bureau, working within a group of Business Analysts in support of Budget, General Ledger and Project Costing. Responsibilities may include the following:

• Work on projects related to Budget, General Ledger and Project Costing: creating business process flows, participating in requirements elicitation, writing and/or updating functional specifications, writing test scripts and data value sheets, and executing test scripts or performing ad hoc testing.
• Assist in the analysis of complex production issues.
• Assist with Lapsing and Fiscal Year End.
