Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree* and five years of information technology experience, including three years of information security or information assurance experience.

*Appropriate information security or information assurance experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis; an associate’s degree requires an additional two years of information technology, information security, or information assurance experience. Experience solely in information security or information assurance may substitute for the general information technology experience.

Duties Description Perform in a senior advisory role in regards to decisions which affect information security.

Implement, monitor, improve, and ensure staff’s compliance with OCFS and New York State information standards, policies, and procedures.

Serve as the OCFS liaison with ITS on data-handling matters, concerns, and mandates that require OCFS to implement policies, standards, and procedures.

Recommend changes in policies, processes, and procedures to ensure that employees have access to only the duties that they perform.

Identify and assess the probability of occurrence and determine the likely impact of risks to the integrity of OCFS’s data and information systems.

Represent the Division of Legal Affairs at intra-agency meetings and inter-agency meetings and conferences.

Consult with OCFS Counsel on a review of relevant laws, rules, and regulations.
