Duties Description The position is responsible for managing the execution of activities of the Equal Opportunity and Diversity Development (EODD) program for OCFS. The incumbent will provide advice and technical assistance to agency management, and execute work product regarding discrimination complaint investigation and reporting, Reasonable Accommodation, and hiring practices related to protected classes. Candidate will report to the Assistant Commissioner for this program area.
Duties include:
• Intake, investigation, and resolution of complaints of discrimination in the workplace. Drafting reports and reviewing the reports of subordinate staff resulting from investigations of discrimination complaints for submission to Legal Affairs.
• Developing, and implementing policies and procedures owned by EODD. Reviewing and evaluating current OCFS policies and recommends changes and/or additions.
• Collaborating with the Department of Civil Service and agency Personnel staff in reviewing departmental hiring, promotion, examination, training and career opportunity policies and procedures.
• Establishing recruitment resources to locate qualified target group candidates to ensure a cross-representational workforce in our various Divisions.
• Representing the agency at meetings, hearings or conferences with State and Federal regulatory agencies, community organizations, civil rights groups, unions and other interest groups on a variety of subject matters.
• Developing and providing diversity training and workshops to OCFS employees.
Developing educational and training programs for all employees, with an emphasis on enhancing career opportunities for minorities, women, individuals with disabilities, and
Vietnam Era Veterans.
• Travel is required.

Additional Comments The successful candidate must possess excellent organizational and writing skills. A writing sample must be submitted to OCFS upon request. ** This position requires 25% travel time.
