Minimum Qualifications Five or more years of experience in storage configuration and administration, managing storage migrations projects involving multiple sites and technologies. Planning and execution of SAN switch upgrades and replacements. An expert level support of the following products:

• Cisco SAN Networks

• EMC VMAX Series storage arrays

• EMC VNX Series storage arrays

• EMC Unisphere

• IBM XIV storage arrays

The following degrees, preferably in Computer Science, may substitute for the general experience as indicated:

• Associate’s degree and four years of experience

• Associate’s degree including 15 semester credit hours in computer science and three years of experience

• Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience

• Bachelor’s degree including 15 semester credit hours in computer science and two years of experience

• Master’s degree in computer science or related field substitutes for an additional year of experience

• Doctorate in computer science or related field substitutes for an additional 2 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the technical background, the ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in the field of Information Technology/Computer Science.

• Five or more years of experience with support of systems related to Criminal Justice processing.

• Demonstrated skill in Architectural design and service integration.

• Expert level debugging skills.

Duties Description Under the direction of an Information Technology Specialist 4, SG-25, within the Chief Operations Office (COO) Data Center Hosting in Albany, NY, the Project Coordinator will be a storage administrator within the DCH Block Storage Service area.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Manage various storage centric projects and act as the storage POC in larger organizational projects;

• Manage Daily Operations, including the fulfillment of SAN requests including disk allocations, de-allocations, disk modifications, copy services, SAN zoning;

• Troubleshoot and rectify any issues relating to the SAN environment, including the storage subsystems, SAN switch network, and any access components within the SAN. In many cases, this will require collaboration with vendor support, other Datacenter units, and customers;

• Apply required patching, software upgrades, and hardware replacements to various components within the SAN environment. In many instances, this work will require weekend and off-hour scheduling;

• Provide technical assistance for formal Enterprise projects as well as informal requests regarding storage related considerations;

• Use IBM TPC, EMC SRM, and EMC Unisphere to identify and resolve problems as well as proactively monitor the environment. The incumbent will also use these tools to generate reports detailing the health of the environment, as well as for inventory and capacity planning purposes;

• Act as the SAN team point-of-contact and primary resolver for all SAN related off-hour issues. In many instances, this requires a physical presence at one of the DC locations.
