Duties Description The Administrator Employee Health Service will provide leadership and direction to staff in the Employee Health Service, newly located within the Testing Services Division. As such, the Administrator will be responsible for the following:
• Providing managerial oversight for policy development and strategic direction related to the provision of the statutorily required services of the Employee Health Service.
• Overseeing a full-time staff of physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and medical technicians in their administration of pre-employment and fitness for duty examinations and evaluations; occupational health screenings; and immunizations for New York State employees.
• Maintaining networks of medical, psychological, and clinical specialties throughout the State for the provision of those contractual services which cannot be performed by the staff of the Employee Health Service.
• Coordinating the contract procurement activities of the Employee Health Service with the Department’s Office of Financial Administration, including the drafting of procurement and contractual language.
• Serving as the Employee Health Service Health Insurance and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy official.
• Representing Civil Service with the public, Department executive staff, and representatives of other State agencies on Departmental policies, programs and operations.
