Duties Description Under the direct supervision of the State Director of the NYS Mentoring Program, the Project Assistant will support the operations of the New York State Mentoring Program. The incumbent in this position will assist and support the Regional Coordinators to develop, implement and manage mentoring programs in New York State, as well as provide support to the Chairperson of the NYS Mentoring Program. Specific duties include but are not limited to: Responding to inquiries about the NYS Mentoring Program; Recruiting schools as possible mentor locations; Promoting and marketing the NYS Mentoring Program to community entities, including but limited to businesses, not-for -profit agencies, civic and faith-based organizations; recruiting and training student and adult mentors; Scheduling meetings and providing other administrative program support; Tracking and analyzing data on the schools implementing the NYS Mentoring Program; Assisting the Regional Coordinators with other tasks related to the needs and success of the NYS Mentoring Program; and Assisting with the development of performance reports for the NYS Mentoring Program, and other tasks related to the needs and success of the NYS Mentoring Program as required or requested.
Additional Comments Experience that demonstrates excellent organizational skills; proven ability to multi-task; understand and follow directions; and solve problems creatively; excellent oral and written communication skills; proficient in computer use, including use of the Internet and email, word processing programs, and spreadsheets and databases.
