Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title or one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/c service in a title SG-16 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law. For appointment as a Budgeting Analyst Trainee, candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/c service as a SG-11 or higher and be otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service law, or reachable on the appropriate Civil Service List.
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to work independently and as a team member with strong attention to detail and accuracy along with strong mathematical skills; good verbal and written communication skills; familiarity with Oracle Financial Management System and the Statewide Financial Systems (SFS) is preferred.
Duties Description The incumbent of this position may rotate throughout the Finance Office units including the Budget Unit, Local Assistance Grant Contract Unit, Accounting Operations Unit and Business Office.
Initially, this position will be assigned to the Budget Unit and will be responsible for all budgeting aspects of designated portions of DCJS and hosted agency programs. Duties will include, but are not limited to: budgeting analysis, assisting in the preparation of the Agency’s annual budget request, fiscal closeout, developing projections, implementing the enacted budget, reviewing proposed program area spending plans and preparing budget journals to implement the various program plans.
The incumbent will also be responsible for the development of designated program area cash plans and ongoing monitoring thereafter. Additionally, this position may also have cash flow responsibilities for the Agency’s special revenue funds and review of federal grant activity.
