Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must be physically able to perform medium to heavy physical labor as well as understand and carry out written or oral instructions.

Duties Description The New York State Education Department’s Performance Improvement Management Services is seeking candidates for a Cleaner (50%) position in the Office of Facilities and Business Services. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Sweep and mop restroom floors;
• Clean restroom fixtures and partitions;
• Maintain restroom supplies;
• Clean break rooms;
• Shovel snow if needed; and
• Perform other cleaning tasks as required.

Additional Comments CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This will be a contingent permanent appointment. Promotions and transfers may change appointee’s negotiating unit. Applicants should be aware that changes in negotiating units may affect their salary, insurance, and other benefits. The work schedule for this position includes hours of Monday through Friday, 2:00pm – 6:00pm.

Employees of The New York State Education Department who are currently working 50% in a Cleaner position and are interested in adding this shift to increase their percentage to 100% MUST apply to the position as outlined in the Application section of this flyer.

*Leads to a maximum salary of $17,998 ($35,995 prorated to 50%) based on annual performance advances.
